RF Microneedling

What is RF Microneedling?

Radiofrequency Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles (up to 4mm) and radiofrequency energy waves to rejuvenate facial and body skin.

The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The damage stimulates the growth of healthy new skin, which can benefit common skin issues like acne scars and wrinkles. The heat stimulates and remodels collagen. Heat is only delivered to top of the needle addressing deep dermis, increasing collagen production and repairing skin texture.

This combination of therapeutically traumatizing the skin and delivering heat results in a skin surface that is firmer, smoother, and more even!

Compared with treatments like chemical peels and dermabrasion, radiofrequency microneedling is minimally invasive since it does trigger the dermis leaving the surface and dermis untouched.

Does RF Microneedling Really Work?

According to research, radiofrequency microneedling is effective for many skin conditions.

Acne scars
In a 2014 studyTrusted Source of 31 people, radiofrequency microneedling moderately improved acne scars in 78 percent of the participants. A small 2017 study found similar results.

Skin rejuvenation
Microneedling with radiofrequency waves can also improve the look of your skin. In a 2013 study, for example, the procedure reduced wrinkles around the eyes. The effects lasted longer than Botox injections.A 2020 case report also shares that the treatment can reduce loose facial skin.Additionally, in a 2018 studyTrusted Source, radiofrequency microneedling improved skin texture and pore size.

Hyperhidrosis
According to a 2019 study, the procedure can permanently treat hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. A 2013 study found that the treatment helps by reducing the number and size of sweat glands.

Why Choose Our RF Quantum Microneedling Device For Your Skin?

Less Pain And Fast Recovery
Technicians can precisely target a surface area by adjusting the amount of energy from 0.5mm to 3.5mm and prompting dermal coagulation using the advanced penetration mechanism.

Optimal And Uniform Thermolysis
Our Quantum inovative RF Microneedling system has an optimal amount of space between the microneedles. As a result, the RF energy will be uniformly distributed throughout the target area and will evenly coagulate without the risk of interference caused by nearby, overlapping RF energy.

Precise And Safe Treatment
Our RF MIcroneedling device is designed to helps eliminate post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) by safely delivering the precise amount of heat necessary to stimulate the growth of collagen in the tissue.

What To Expect During The RF Microneedling Treatment?

To make you comfortable, before the procedure, a topical numbing agent will be applied to the area being treated. After 20 minutes of numbing we begin the treatment by cleansing thorougly the skin. We use a growth factor serum to maximize results of the treatment. This serum is applied to the skin before and between each pass of the the microneedling device. This handpiece is outfitted with a cluster of needles that deliver several dozen pricks about three millimeters deep into your skin. The device also emits radiofrequency energy into your skin to treat scars and wrinkles and yield a fuller, more youthful look.

Together, the needles and heat energy stimulate your skin into creating new collagen and hyaluronic acid, which help repair tissue and hydrate your skin, respectively. One session is about  30 minutes, and a minimum of three sessions is recommended for optimal results. It’s common, as well, to undergo touch-up procedures to maintain your appearance.

Although the rf microneedling procedure is extremely safe, some mild side effects are to be expected. Your skin will be numbed, so treatment will be comfortable. Our device use vacuum system to isolate nerves while needling. Redness and swelling around the treated site is not unexpected, either, though both should only be mild. Your face might also feel warm, as if you have a sunburn.

For many men and women, microneedling has been a game-changer. Yet, as with any hot trend, there is still misinformation out there. Read on to find out the truth about microneedling RF treatment for aging.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Because microneedling works to repair the skin from the inside out, it takes time for full results to develop. However, you may see an immediate improvement in the skin as well. Often, patients will leave the office with a light glow after their treatment. After about 30 days, you’ll notice more dramatic improvements as collagen and elastin are restored beneath the skin’s surface.

Most of our patients notice significantly smoother, more even skin after just 1 RF Microneedling treatment, however, we find that at least 3 sessions are the optimal amount of treatments to see a more noticible skin tone & texture improvement. And since RF Microneedling encourages your skin to produce collagen and elastin after it’s treated, you can enjoy results that will continue to improve for months.

Am I A Good Candidate For RF Microneedling?

Almost anyone can safely undergo microneedling. The Quantum medical microneedling device offers an adjustable depth, making it appropriate for many different skin color, types, issues.
It is ideal for addressing mild to moderate damage from wrinkles, scars, and enlarged pores as it will tide and firm sagin skin and improve strech marks look. Most patients will benefit from a series of 3 - 6 treatments spaced at least 4 weeks apart.

Can It Treat Stretch Marks?

Over the years, many of us develop stretch marks for various reasons – sudden weight or muscle gain, pregnancy or puberty. Anyone can get them, regardless of gender, but they affect women more than men. According to the NHS, around 8 in 10 women get them during pregnancy.

When the skin stretches beyond its capacity, like a balloon, it puts strain on the supportive web of collagen and elastin. When this network weakens and ruptures, the body can struggle to heal the tear. As a result, a stretch mark occurs.

Since stretch marks disrupt the natural production of collagen, Microneedling RF will not only help to restart that production, but the overproduction of elastin and collagen will help heal the damaged connective tissue in the dermis that creates the stretch mark!

This treatment is also excellent for stretch marks because it penetrates the skin deep enough to create a reaction within the same layer that the stretch marks are created instead of resting on the surface.

It is a minimally invasive treatment that has rapidly become one of the most popular professional skin treatments.

Our microneedling and radiofrequency device offers a controlled insertion of the needles into the skin at different depths from 0.5mm to 4.0mm, which allows us to adapt to different skin thicknesses, types and indications.

How do I prepare my skin for microneedling?

You will want to refrain from using abrasive skincare products, such as retinol, exfoliants, topical antibiotics and acids, for at least 48 hours before microneedling. It is crucial to avoid harmful UV ray exposure from direct sunlight and tanning beds for the five days before your treatment.

Blood-thinning medications, such as Aspirin, ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or nutritional supplements, including Fish Oil, vegetarian Omega-3, Vitamin E, turmeric, ginger or garlic tablets, should not be taken within 72 hours both before and after the procedure. These products can prevent your blood from clotting, which may hinder your skin’s ability to heal during the recovery process.

If you’re prone to cold sores, you should take an anti-viral prescription for the 48 hours before and the day of your treatment to prevent any flare-ups.

Be mindful of your hair removal practices before microneedling. Refrain from treatments such as electrolysis, lasering, waxing or using hair removal creams for at least two weeks before your appointment. It should be fine to shave any body hair in the few days before the procedure. However, it is best to leave a 24-48 hour grace period before your booked session to prevent any skin irritation.

Cosmetic procedures, such as botox, other laser beauty treatments and chemicals, should be avoided for two weeks before microneedling. These procedures temporarily make the skin more sensitive and more prone to irritation. This time frame provides your skin adequate time to recover between treatments. You should wait four weeks after getting any filler injections before scheduling an appointment to allow these solutions to properly settle into the skin.

You should not consume any alcohol within 24 hours before and refrain from having any caffeinated foods or drinks the day of your microneedling procedure. These substances can promote bruising and inflammation, which can harm or hinder the healing process. Intense exercise also should be avoided in the 24-48 period before your appointment.

Limit processed ingredients and integrate more whole foods, especially vitamin C-rich produce, into your diet in the days leading up to the skin needling to aid the recovery process. Drinking adequate water also will support your system and help reduce inflammation.

On the day of your appointment, make sure to keep your skin clean, dry and makeup-free. Using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer will keep the area calm and ensure no germs or dirt will infiltrate the skin. If you skip this step, your dermatologist or medical aesthetician will wash and dry your face for you.

After Care Instructions

You may resume most activities immediately after any treatment, but you may not look your best during the healing process. Clients usually have 4 - 10 days of dots (5 - 7 days of dots on average), usually followed by some redness that will gradually diminish.

  • Do not pick scabs! Removing the scabs prematurely may result in scarring and discoloration. Allow scabs to come off on their own. This will ensure the best possible result and avoid scarring, hyperpigmentation and infection.
  • Ice the treated area using a clean towel to cover the ice pack each use. Alternate 10 minutes on and off for up to 1 hour for the first 2 days. Anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine medicines can also help with swelling in the early healing phases.
  • Keep the treated area clean using a mild, unscented, alcohol free cleanser. PAT DRY- KEEP DRY!
  • Do not apply makeup (even mineral makeup) until the scabbing has fallen off completely. This is to avoid infection or disrupting the scabs prematurely.
  • IMPORTANT! Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds to the treated area. Once the scabbing process is complete, always apply broad spectrum SPF 50 or higher to the area for a minimum of 3 months after your last treatment. This skin is still healing and can easily become damaged and may cause hyperpigmentation and/or premature aging.
  • Dry healing is preferred but if your scabs become unbearably itchy, then you may safely apply the post treatment balm I provide up to three times per day to help manage itchy sensation. Icing also helps manage itchiness.
  • Taking collagen, vitamin c and L-lysine supplements over the course of your healing process can give your immune system and collagen production a boost.
  • Avoid smoking.
  • Avoid shaving over any area that has been treated until the skin has fully healed.
  • Exercising right after a treatment is not recommended because any heat, steam or sweat can add to inflammation. Do not use any pools, hot tubs or saunas until after the dots have fallen off and your skin returns to a more normal state.
  • After the dots have fallen off on their own , you may use makeup to cover any redness. If your skin is ready and not too tender, using a gentle enzyme exfoliant can help to create a smoother surface from the peeling that is typical at this stage of healing.
  • Do not use anything harsh on your skin (like acids, peels or physical exfoliants) until you have reached the 8 weeks post treatment healing point. Use common sense, if it doesn’t feel good, then don’t do it
