What is Red Light Therapy?
Red Light Therapy or RLT, is a form of light therapy that helps heal skin, muscle tissue, joints as well as other parts of the body.
It exposes the body to high powered red and/or near-infrared light. Infrared light produces a type of energy that your eyes can’t see, but your body can sense as heat. Red light is very similar to infrared light with the difference that your eyes can see it.
Other terms used for RLT include Low-level laser therapy (LLLT), low-power laser therapy (LPLT), and lastly photobiomodulation (PBM).

How Does Red Light Therapy Work?
YES! and the best part is that it can be added on to any of your spa services to boost results!
You expose your skin to a RLT device, and the mitochondria (power house of your cells) absorbs the light and converts it from a light energy into a chemical called ATP (adenosine triphosphate), a naturally forming chemical your body uses to heal itself.
Red Light Therapy boosts ATP production much like a plant absorbs sunlight and converts it to food with zero UV exposure so your body can accelerate its own natural healing process.
Are There Any Risks or Side Effects?
RLT uses very low levels of heat therefore it does not hurt or burn the skin.
Red Light is considered a safe form of therapy and there are no known risks or side effects however customers who are pregnant or have cancer should not use the products.
What does a RLT treatment feel like?
When the system is on, the patient will feel a slight warming sensation, like a warm hug. They should take this time to relax and enjoy the mitochondrial level healing.
What should I wear during treatment?
Red light does not penetrate through clothing, so to maximize the results, it is recommended to be in minimal clothing such as gym shorts and/or a sports bra. When treating your face, eye protection is provided.
How often should I receive treatments and how long will the results last?
Results will vary from patient to patient, depending on the use case(s) being treated. Patients should feel rejuvenated after a single 30-minute session. If a patient maintains a healthy lifestyle while implementing red light therapy 3-5 times a week, the benefits will be long term.
Can anyone be treated?
Red Light Therapy treatments are safe, non-invasive and effective for most people. Contraindications include pregnant women, babies and small children. If you have a specific health condition, please consult with your doctor prior to using the Light Pad.
